The parks and open space strategy sets out our vision for the future of parks and open spaces in Aberdeenshire.

Open space audit and play sufficiency assessment
The open space audit and play sufficiency assessment provide information about play areas and open spaces across Aberdeenshire, and have been published as planning advice in support of the Local Development Plan. They were approved on 27th November 2025.

Settlement summaries
Settlement summaries show what green and open spaces exist in each settlement, how well they serve the community, and where improvements might be needed as part of planning and strategy development. They are based on findings from 2022 and 2023 site audits, and they are updated periodically.
