Child Poverty Local Action Report

Published: 28 June 2019Last Updated: 21 August 2024

As part of the Child Poverty (Scotland) Act 2017, Local authorities and NHS boards must jointly produce local action reports annually on the activity they are taking to reduce child poverty.    Aberdeenshire remains a relatively affluent area of Scotland, but there are still pockets of deprivation and rural isolation. Poverty affects children’s lives and future opportunities, so partners across Aberdeenshire are strongly committed to tackling child poverty. Our Child Poverty Local Action Report shows what is being done to protect children living in poverty. In Aberdeenshire, this includes ongoing work as well as a new, targeted action plan being implemented to ensure that families in need have easy access to efficient and compassionate support during difficult times.
