Doors Open Days

Aberdeenshire wide call for participating venues

Door Open Days 2020 will take place on 19th and 20th September 2020.

Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates the built environment. The event is coordinated at a national level by the Scottish Civic Trust. The purpose of the event is “to provide free access to sites of historic, cultural, architectural and community interest; to increase public appreciation and enjoyment of Scotland’s built heritage; and to promote inclusion in Scotland’s civic spaces and activities”.

This year’s event is particularly important as its theme celebrates Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters. This year, following on from the success of last year, the event will again be held Aberdeenshire wide and we are now looking for suggestions of properties, from your areas, which may wish to participate. If you require further information regarding the event, or wish to nominate a property please email doorsopen@aberdeenshire.gov.uk and include the property name and details of a contact, if available, by the end of February 2020.

Further information can be found on our facebook page and the Doors Open Days website.
